Kanis Tree



This tree was the popular picnic site in the Country. Associated with the Kanis family (the Kanis brothers were active in development of West Little Rock) and the western development of Little Rock during the late 1890‟s/early 1900‟s, in the area of Kanis Park.  The Kanis family donated land for present-day Kanis Park which is near the location of this tree and Kanis Road was named after Mr. Kanis. (Est. 200+ yrs old) Located in the front yard of a private residence of a Kanis Family descendent.
