State Champion Crape Myrtle



Planted: 1884/1885, representative of the typical residential landscape in Old Little Rock

Recognized as a State Champion Crape myrtle (1997) generally referred to as a shrub; however, this specimen has grown to tree stature. Located along the road in front of a residence; however the January 1999 Tornado destroyed many of the homes in that area, including the home by this Crape Myrtle. The tree still remains.
